Tax free income

In April 2010 the UK government announed a new Feed-in Tariffs (FITs) payment scheme for domestic and commercial solar panel systems. The purpose of FITs is to encourage homeowners to switch to renewable energy sources.

For each kilowatt hour (kWh) of electricity your solar PV panels generate, you are paid a fixed amount, the amount is guaranteed and index linked, which means it will rise each year, providing a tax free income for the next 25 years, with returns of between 8-10%.
